Obsidian Entertainment announced their upcoming spacefaring RPG The Outer Worlds back in December of last year, and confirmed that it would be launching in 2019, but beyond that, a more specific launch date was not mentioned. As per changes made to the game’s listing on SteamDB (spotted by DSO Gaming), however, that specific release date might have now come to light.
On February 22, the game’s information received an update in the Steam database, mentioning August 6 as the game’s launch date. The release date was promptly removed in another update that very day, but the changes made to the database are still visible on the site. You can view the full change log for the game’s listing on SteamDB through here.
Of course, this isn’t an official announcement for the game’s release date, so for now, take this with a grain of salt- at least until Obsidian announces something concrete one way or another.
There have been plenty of other updates on The Outer Worlds recently, however, from the length of its campaign, to details about player choices in its story, to information about its combat mechanics. Read about them all through the links.
