Obsidian Entertainment’s The Outer Worlds is one of the major headlining releases for October, combining decision-making and a free-flowing narrative with first person combat. Though we’ve seen areas like Byzantium City and Edgewater, the newest trailer details the Halcyon System overall. The worlds Terra 2 and Monarch are explained in more detail.

Terra 2 appears more like a colonized planet with various corporations and brands looming. There’s a definite sci-fi Western aesthetic at play here as denizens are dressed in a mix of old-timey clothes and space armor. Monarch is much more unruly with various creatures roaming about and ready to tear people apart.

Of course, things change when you enter the picture. Based on decisions made – even if that entails killing every single person in the entire game – the world will react accordingly. The Outer Worlds is out on October 25th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (with the Nintendo Switch version coming later). It will also be available at launch for Xbox Game Pass. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
