The Outer Worlds is one of the bigger releases coming out in the remainder of this year, and as is the case with any big release, you’d expect it to feature enhancements for both, the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro. If you do- well, you’re half right.

As Windows Central reports, The Outer Worlds publishers Private Division have confirmed that the game will be “4K on Xbox One [X]”, but that it will offer “no enhancements for PS4 Pro.” No other details have bee given, and the publishers haven’t gone into why this is the case. At any rate, it’s a particularly strange decision- one would imagine getting the game enhanced on both consoles would be part of a singular effort, but this suggests otherwise. Here’s hoping the PS4 Pro enhancements come in a post-launch patch, but there’s no guarantees that that will happen.

We’ve recently been treated to plenty of new footage from The Outer Worlds. Other than its opening 20 minutes, we also got a look at a new video in which the developers detailed the game’s character creator. Take a look at both through the links.

The Outer Worlds is out on October 25 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with the latter two receiving the game on Xbox Game Pass day and date as well. On the Xbox One, the game will require 37 GB of free storage space. A Nintendo Switch version is also in development, but doesn’t currently have a release date.
