The Quarry Features Movie Mode With Multiple Outcomes and No Gameplay

Want to simply watch the story unfold without any input? Movie Mode is the answer and allows for setting different responses for each character.

Aside from The Dark Pictures Anthology: The Devil in Me, Supermassive Games is working on a new horror title called The Quarry. The story sees nine teenagers traveling to a camp in Hackett Quarry but meeting with an accident. Things only take a turn for the worse from there but if you’d rather not engage with dialogue choices and consequences, it’s possible to simply sit back and watch.

According to a recent IGN preview, along with various settings, there’s also Movie Mode. It features no gameplay and allows for watching the story like, well, a movie. You can go with “Everyone Lives” or “Everyone Dies” as your setting. Alternatively, sit in the Director’s Chair and determine how each character acts in different situations.

Do you want Kaitlyn to act Erratic, Clumsy or Adept when under pressure? Should Laura be Inconsistent or Sympathetic in conversations? Will you select Composed, Conflict or Flustered when faced with fight-or-flight situations? The choice is all yours and the results will change each time, allowing for tons of different outcomes.

The Quarry is out on June 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Xbox One. Check out the first 30 minutes of gameplay here.
