Eidos Montreal has finally revealed the long awaited first person sneaker follow-up with Thief 4 in Game Informer’s 240th issue. Head here for screenshots to the game.

Described as somewhat of a reboot to the franchise, Thief 4 will feature the return of Garreth to The City, a Gothic industrial cityscape, for one simple purpose: To steal from the rich and give to himself

He’ll have to go up against a new political tyrant called the Baron, and deal with a mysterious plague that reminds us more than a little of Arkane Studios’ Dishonored. Regardless, given the realism and emphasis on awesome tools and multiple ways to traverse the environment, we’re sure Thief 4 will carry its own appeal.

Given the amount of time it’s been in development, it’s not too surprising for Square Enix to plan ahead and release the game in 2014 for next-generation platforms. So far, releases for the PS4 and PC have been confirmed. Stay tuned for more details.
