Tomb Raider 2013

During a recent presentation in the wake of the Embracer Group acquiring Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix Montreal, it was revealed that the Tomb Raider series had sold 88 million units in its lifetime. Crystal Dynamics studio head Scot Amos also revealed that 38 million units were from the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy.

This means that Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider contributed to 43.18 percent of total franchise sales. Other noteworthy figures include the mobile titles Lara Croft: Relic Run and Lara Croft: Go collectively hitting 53 million paid downloads. The developer is currently working on a new Tomb Raider title developed on Unreal Engine 5.

It’s also working with The Initiative on Perfect Dark (with the latter confirming that the partnership remains unchanged). Other interesting tidbits from the presentation include Eidos Montreal studio head David Anfossi confirming that it had “several” projects in development on Unreal Engine 5.
