8. Rune Factory: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
Rune Factory, like many farm simulators, became rather tedious after a while. Though I never had the patience to see Rune Factory through to its conclusion, I still hold the game in reverence for its intriguing mix of your standard hack and slash dungeon crawler and the Harvest Moon farm sim formula. It’s not surprising seeing as how the game is a Harvest Moon spin off, but it still gave the classic farm simulator that extra sense of urgency it needed to be a truly gripping experience.
