That Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain Trailer

This Gamescom saw the release of a new trailer for Kojima Productions’ Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain. But of course it did, right? There was just a teensy little problem – this trailer clearly wasn’t edited or handled by series creator Hideo Kojima like previous iterations. It played out more like a standard action film rather than the heavily philosophical and narrative-based trailers we’d seen till now. Plenty of people noticed as well and it didn’t take long before Konami took the brunt of the negative feedback. It hasn’t officially confirmed whether Kojima had anything to do with the trailer or not, but it’s not surprising that another trailer from the maestro himself is on the way before launch.
