#11. MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA
Mass Effect: Andromeda had a lot of issues, and if we had to sit down and talk about all the ways it’s a step down from the original trilogy, we’d be talking for a long, long time. But the one area where the game is an unequivocal success is the combat. It is, simply put, the best combat we’ve ever experienced in a Mass Effect game. Combining Ryder’s abilities with the punchy weapons and your jetpack feels fast, slick, and dynamic, and the removal of a sticky and traditional cover system ensures that things never feel as static as they often could in the older games. When BioWare do eventually go back to the Mass Effect series, we sincerely hope that they keep Andromeda’s combat system, and build on its bones to deliver something even better.
