The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The goal of CD Projekt RED with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was to make a “huge” game. Its side quests mostly avoided the standard fetch quest formula, incorporating interesting narrative twists, while the world was dotted with unique points of interest. That’s not including the amazing cinematic story but the sheer number of monster hunts, contracts, scavenger hunts and side missions were enough to keep players busy for a long time. It also doesn’t hurt that the game is incredibly gorgeous, whether you’re navigating the high seas of Skellige or assisting an assassination in Novigrad.
