7. Street Fighter 6
Following the disaster that was Street Fighter 5, the bar was high for the franchise’s next mainline title. Instead of trying to fix its previous systems, Street Fighter 6 opted for a different direction. The new Drive system mixes strategy with its combos, enhancing the neutral game beyond its predecessor while ensuring each fight feels refreshing. Content-wise, it packs everything fans could want, from a Battle Hub to interact with other players and crossplay to rollback netcode and even virtual commentators. Even if some of its balance changes and monetization have been questionable, Street Fighter 6 is the fighting game of this generation.
