Perhaps the more action-driven gameplay leaves many believing The Evil Within 2 isn’t as scary as its predecessor. However, with a twisting, unexpected plotline, and deep emotional attachment to Sebastian as he hunts for his daughter in a nightmarish reality, the stakes and scare factor are higher. The monsters here are more creatively disturbing too, the psychological trauma more pronounced; The Evil Within’s sequel is undoubtably a superior game.
