Pillars of Eternity
So Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity is actually a fantasy role-playing game similar to Planescape: Torment and Baldur’s Gate. So you’ll have the ability to customize your primary character’s race, class, gear, skills and appearance. So you’ll be recruiting several different companions to explore a large world and undertake missions and quests for progress.
But let’s be honest – if it’s Obsidian Entertainment, it’s going to be big. The developer is well known for its large open worlds rife with potential for exploration, puzzle-solving and questing. You need look no further than Neverwinter Nights 2, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Fallout: New Vegas for proof of that.
Now that the company is dealing with an original IP though – one that it’s been very careful about optimizing before its release – will it finally have its own key franchise? If not, we’ll be more than happy to have an awesome game from the exchange.
