Ubisoft Forward is Not Happening This Year

The publisher will instead participate in showcases like the PC Gaming Show as it explores "opportunities to share updates."

Ubisoft Forward

With all the announced showcases, including regulars like the Summer Game Fest and Xbox Games Showcase, what’s going on with Ubisoft? It usually hosts a new Ubisoft Forward in June, but not this year.

A representative for the company told Game File’s Stephen Totilo that the showcase wasn’t happening. Instead, it will participate in the upcoming IGN Live and the PC Gaming Show. “We are always eager to connect with our players and showcase our games…We are continuing to explore opportunities to share updates, and we look forward to providing more information at a later date.”

This means that Assassin’s Creed Shadows could reveal its upcoming June update at the PC Gaming Show. Whether we’ll learn more about other content coming this year, including the Claws of Iwaji expansion, remains to be seen. Rumors indicate the open-world action RPG will receive at least two years of post-launch support, including a co-op mode next year.

Of course, Ubisoft has other titles in the works, including Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Anno 117: Pax Romana, The Division Resurgence, and Rainbow Six Mobile. All these will launch by March 31st, 2026, so expect appearances at other showcases or standalone announcements.

Ubisoft Forward, which has been a digital and in-person showcase for the company's games just about every June, isn't happening this year.A company rep tells me Ubisoft will participate in IGN Live (June 7-8) and PC Gaming Show (June 8) and will also be at GamesCom

I don't think Ubisoft has a big line-up for the rest of the year, plus it's in cost-cutting mode, so it's not shocking that they're skippingIt's still curious to me, though, that the AC Shadows roadmap only specifies releases through June with a vaguer later-this-year for the game's 1st expansion
