Ubisoft BeNeLux PR & Event Manager Tessa Vilyn has addressed concerns that Watch Dogs has been visually downgraded since it’s last showing in September 2013. The open world hacking title recently faced community backlash when the new story trailer and release date were revealed. There’s even insider talk that Ubisoft is quite fearful of the backlash thus far.

Responding on Twitter to demands for releasing footage that matches the E3 reveal, Vilyn said, “There is a lot more coming up until May 27th for you guys to discover. 🙂 So we will! :)”

On being specifically told that the new trailer looked downgraded compared to the September 13th demo, Vilyn responded: “Didn’t see my tweet an hour ago? 😉 Believe me the game is not downgraded, that would just be a bit ridiculous. :)”

Vilyn also clarified that some issues have been persistent since the game’s initial reveal. For example, “Aiden’s face still had animation bone issues in 2012 >> just to be clear :)”

She also added that, “Its a true next gen game for sure… for sure..”

What are your thoughts? Watch Dogs releases on May 27th for Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Stay tuned for more updates from Ubisoft as they arrive.
