Among the troubles currently faced by Microsoft about its acquisition of Activision Blizzard in UK and EU, the company might also soon face trouble from the USA. According to Politico, the US Federal Trade Commission seems to be likely to file a lawsuit to stop the acquisition from happening.

It is worth noting that the antitrust lawsuit by FTC isn’t yet guaranteed, as the governing body’s four commissioners have to still vote on the complaint and meet with lawyers. Looking at details and arguments in favour of the deal has the FTC skeptical, however.

Much like the investigations by the Eurpean Commission and UK’s Competition and Market Authority, the FTC is also concerned about Microsoft getting an unfair advantage in the gaming market its acquisition of Activision Blizzard goes through. The FTC itself is yet to make a statement on the matter.

As part of UK’s investigation into the matter, Sony recently released a 22-page statement with a few interesting details, including the performance of PlayStation Plus subscriptions, how the acquisition is bad for developers and gamers, how Microsoft wants to turn Sony into Nintendo, and even the fact that a PS6 might be coming after 2027.
