Vampire Survivors received its first major DLC recently with Legacy of the Moonspell. It added new characters, weapons and a massive new stage for $1.99. Those who can’t afford such exorbitant prices needn’t worry, though. Developer poncle confirmed that free updates and content are still coming to the base game.

“DLCs will always be purely extra content in terms of Stages, Monsters, Weapons, Characters etc. Items, Power-ups, game mechanics and more will continue to be added to the base game, so if you don’t pick up the DLC you don’t have to fear missing out.” Updates like the recent Tiny Bridge, which added a new strange, will continue to arrive.

They also revealed that Legacy of the Moonspell will be coming to iOS and Android nearly next year as “we figure out how to make it available in a fair way.” As for why the DLC is only $1.99, poncle said that the price felt right, reflecting its production value.

“The community is, as usual, very kind, and we get a lot of this type of comments, some intended just as a compliment, some serious. While I’m very grateful for the sentiment, just like for the main game, the DLC has a price that ‘feels right’ to me and reflects its production value.

“For the past few months and the DLC, we had amazing artists like Glauber Kotaki and Pitavant for the new graphics; Daniele Zandara and his new bangers with live recordings; that little surprise in the DLC trailer; and a whole company to sustain to be able to launch on all current platforms. Yet poncle still needs time (and key people!) to provide a higher production value.

“”For the DLC I still had to fill some gaps by using asset packs for example, so a low price, and frequent discounts, simply seem fair.” That being said, when the developer has something “even better to offer,” you can expect them to charge more.

Vampire Survivors is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, iOS, and Android. It’s also playable on Game Pass. Stay tuned for more details on future updates and paid content in the coming months.
