Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is still less than a week away but that hasn’t stopped fans from spoiling the game willy nilly via leaked retail copies. We’ve been seeing gameplay footage from the PS3, PS4 and Xbox One versions; images of Aiden Pearce’s skills; and much more. An erstwhile Reddit user decided to compare Watch Dogs’ total map size to Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5. How did it fare?
First, a rough construct of the world map in Watch Dogs was created from this video using Photoshop. The result is what you see below along with the possible six districts.
Next, the Watch Dogs map was taken and overlaid on top of the map size for Grand Theft Auto 4. The user has noted that it isn’t 100 percent accurate but that the margin of error was give or take 10 to 20 percent.
How does Watch Dogs compare to Grand Theft Auto 5 in that sense? Check out the following map image which compared the size of GTA 4’s city to GTA 5.
And finally, all three maps laid over each other.
Again, this isn’t an approximate measurement down to the very last building but it still offers a strong indication of the size of Chicago in Watch Dogs.
