Xbox Game Pass Standard Launches at $14.99 Per Month

Game Pass Standard launches in place of the former base console tier of the subscription service, and doesn't include day one releases.

In June, in addition to raising Game Pass prices again, Microsoft announced that it was also discontinuing the base console tier of the subscription service for new members, and that the tier would be replaced with the new Xbox Game Pass Standard down the road. That new base tier has now released.

Microsoft has announced that Xbox Game Pass Standard is now available for subscribers on consoles, and is priced at $14.99 per month. Standard will include all the benefits of Game Pass Core (i.e. online multiplayer access), in addition to Game Pass’ library of hundreds of titles, both first- and third-party.

As previously announced, however, Xbox Game Pass Standard will not include day one releases, so if that’s something you’re looking for as a new subscriber on consoles, you’ll have to go with Game Pass Ultimate, which costs $19.99 per month.

Earlier this year, reports claimed that Microsoft was working on another, cheaper tier for Game Pass that would be cloud-based. Read more on that through here.
