Microsoft has announced its next generation Xbox console at today’s Xbox Reveal event: The Xbox One, which will be the center of all your media needs.

And dear lord, is it ugly.

The Xbox One is certainly rocking the voice control. On stage, Yusuf Mehdi turned the device on by simply saying “Xbox, On”. This booted the device up, complete with the gamer profile and profile picture. Other functions include “Xbox, Watch” will make it switch to watching live TV.

The current dashboard seems to mirror that of Windows 8 very clearly, with tiles, though menus are laid out horizontally for quick access.

Stay tuned for more information on the console. Meanwhile, what are your thoughts on the design? Is it good, bad, or ugly? Does it look solid or like a glorified set-top box? Can Microsoft still afford to rib Sony about not showing their own console? Let us know in the comments below.
