A new system update is available for Microsoft’s Xbox One. If you’ve been keeping track lately, then you’ll know that preview program members have received a fairly inconsequential update beforehand which didn’t really change much. Later, Microsoft revealed that big things would be announced at E3, hence the reduced feature set this time around.

It seems there was some truth in that statement. Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb confirmed on Twitter that, “Your Xbox One will get a small update today. No new features. Just a few behind the scenes changes to prepare for the future.”

What that future will be remains to be seen but it seems that Microsoft will have some new features to reveal at E3 2015. The company’s press event takes place on June 15th, so the timing of this update is far from a coincidence.

What are your thoughts on what the “future” of the Xbox One could be? Let us know in the comments.
