State of Decay is a franchise that’s never managed to take off well and truly. Sure, it’s not a top-tier, flagship series for Microsoft, so expectations are obviously lower, but after a fun but unpolished first game and a disappointing second entry, one can’t help but feel like the series has a lot of room for improvement. We’re hoping that will happen with a State of Decay 3 on the Xbox Scarlett, backed by a larger budget and a greater drive to deliver a truly standout game. Is it a game many are waiting for with bated breath? No, not really. But is it a game that might interest a lot of people if it promised to make good on the potential of its predecessors? Absolutely.
