Firaxis revealed a new trailer at PAX East just recently for a new XCOM project that might be in the works. This comes off the highly successful XCOM: Enemy Unknown released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 last year and which went on to be a critical and commercial success.

In the revealed trailer, an unknown agent says, “Hello, Commander. The war continues at great cost. We now believe another force is against us. If not dealt with swiftly, it could destroy us.”

This indicates that there is still a heavy battle going on and this time, a new army has shown up to make life tough for the XCOM agents. It could be a new expansion pack, because a proper sequel seems kind of early at this stage but it’s worth looking into.

Check out our review of the original XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which will be making its way to iPad and iPhone soon.
