Game Gear
Sega is no stranger to abandoning hardware, be it for sales reasons or because it simply lost interest. Take the Game Gear, Sega’s handheld that ate up batteries and felt oversized compared to the Game Boy but had its own charm. It was a fairly decent success for the company, offering colour graphics and some nice games while the Game Boy was still stuck in the monochrome era. So what did Sega do? Reduced support, releasing more ports than original games before eventually moving on.
