Resident Evil 4

Even though it was already released on the GameCube before, the PlayStation 2 version of Resident 4 was the best one since it had so many extra features and missions. Leon Kennedy’s trip to hell was a joy ride, killing strange looking people who don’t like zombies but were even more dangerous and pro active than any of the species we have encountered in the previous games. Resident Evil 4 was a lengthy game as well, clocking in at 30+ hours with multiple playthrough’s possible. Resident Evil 4 is still, without any shadow of doubt, the best game in the franchise.

Shadow of the Colossus

If there was any game that proved that “ants can bring down elephants” than it was the 2005 classic: Shadow of the Colossus, a game from the talented Team Ico.  So how far you will go to bring someone to life? Are you willing to take on 16 absolutely humongous and epic colossi? My words seem daunting at first, but once your absorbed by this beautiful world, there is no looking back. Shadow of the Colossus is easily the most epic PlayStation 2 game that I played in 2005.

Devil May Cry

The original hack-n-slash, gory action game that left all our mouths hanging. Not just that- people say, and sometimes feel, God of War is also heavily derived from DMC. Now that is saying something. With greatly stylized action, spectacularly controlled and implemented combat, Devil May Cry will always remain one of the best games on the PS2.

Gran Turismo 3

Gran Turismo has always been a very prestigious series for the PlayStation platforms, and every single game in the Gran Turismo series has been of great quality. Gran Turismo 3 is not any different, and is a very special game for the PS2, being of the most refined, qualitative titles in the genre. We don’t know when or if GT5 will be released, but we do know that Gran Turismo 3 was one heck of a game.
