When you talk about disdain for one’s classic franchises, the cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 comes to mind. Announced in September 2010, the long-awaited sequel was announced for the Nintendo 3DS. Keiji Inafune would leave Capcom in November 2010 but it seemed like things were fine with the Prototype Version, a sort-of demo with 10 missions, slated to release the next year. In July 2011, however, Mega Man Legends 3 was canceled. Inafune offered to complete the game for Capcom – which the company refused – and it’s been discussed several times by other employees but there’s little hope of a revival.
