Prototype 3

Despite strong sales of Prototype 2 at launch, Activision felt that the IP had not found a “broad commercial audience” despite its “substantial investment.” It would subsequently reduce Radical Entertainment’s staff and have it serve as a support studio going forward. However, it wasn’t until June 2019 that we learned of Prototype 3 actually being in development at some point. A few screenshots were released online and, as per Unseen64, it was meant to either close out the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation or launch alongside the PS4 and Xbox One. Activision would release a remastered bundle of Prototype 1 and 2 in 2015 for current-gen platforms but the less said about that, the better.
