EA
One of the only times the entire industry stood behind EA. A man named Tim Langdell had somehow gotten his hands on the ownership of a trademark of the word “Edge”, and any time anyone used the word in relation to a video game, they got sued by him. This led to some controversial incidents, such as a well-loved game called Edge being delisted from iTunes because it got sued (this is also why Soul Edge was called Soulcalibur in the west). Ultimately, EA, when they published Mirror’s Edge, decided to take the fight to Langdell himself, claiming to be acting on behalf of the entire industry. The suit would be decided in EA’s favour, and Langdell’s trademark would be cancelled.
