Cross-Gen Support
To be clear: I’m actually a fan of certain titles being available for PS4 and Xbox One along with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S this year. Why shouldn’t more players be able to enjoy these games? However, it’s obvious that this isn’t something that can continue long-term. Developers won’t have the resources to support previous-gen platforms for years and may want to take advantage of the improved performance that next-gen offers, sooner or later. So sure, bring Horizon Forbidden West to the PS4 and Halo Infinite to the Xbox One but maybe recognize that such a strategy will be less and less feasible as the years roll on.
