The Serum in Resident Evil HD Remastered is quite useful, even more so than in the original game. Using it permanently prevents poison from Yawn, the giant Adder snake B.O.W. However, it has another use. If brought to Richard Aiken and used to save him, players will receive the Assault Shotgun. This pump-action shotgun holds 10 rounds, deals exceptional damage and is good at medium range. Not giving the Serum to Richard means the weapon is gone. Does it dissolve on his death? We may never really know.
