Fallout as a series has always had shades of horror (often much more than just shades), while survival elements have also played a crucial role every so often. But more than that, it’s the setting of Fallout that lends itself to the survival horror genre so well. Imagine playing a game where you’re a lone wanderer in a terrifying post apocalyptic world and have to constantly deal with things such as scrounging for resources and inventory management.
