Watch_Dogs – Explosions
Yes, another Ubisoft entry, and yes, another Watch Dogs one at that (this is the fourth entry for Ubisoft and third for Watch Dogs, if you’ve been keeping track). Like the particle effects in inFamous: Second Son, this one is highlighting the explosions in Watch Dogs.
Explosions are more or less a mainstay of western AAA gaming. They’re so taken for granted that most people don’t think about them twice. But the explosions in Watch Dogs have some tangible meat and substance to them, they have those gorgeous rippling light and shadow effects, and the little shards and shrapnels of whatever it is that just got blown to hell. Explosions were certainly possible on Xox 360 and PS3, but man, explosions of this caliber? Welcome to the next gen, guys. Welcome to the next gen.
