Super Mario Bros. 1-3
This trio of 8-bit platforming perfection landed on the NES in the mid-1980s, and whilst propelling its overall-wearing Italian plumber mascot Mario into a household name it also defined the blueprint for video games at large. It’s not an understatement to say Super Mario Bros. reshaped the video games industry, but the first trilogy itself consistently redefined itself, with evergreen classic Super Mario Bros. 3 providing foundations upon which Nintendo took onto the SNES and beyond.
