Resident Evil
Of course, those craving the old survival horror style of previous titles had plenty to choose from. Resident Evil served as a remake of the PS One classic but with vastly superior visuals and gameplay. Pre-rendered backgrounds were still employed but now used particle effects, real-time lighting and volumetric fog. Character models were also heavily upgraded with extensive motion capture and hand-crafted animations. The results were stunning and still hold up till day, as seen in the HD remaster.
