After the events of The Phantom Pain, we know that Big Boss merges Diamond Dogs into Outer Haven, but that is something we always assume because it’s the only logical thing that could have happened. It’s a bummer that the series never really explains how that happened. By the time The Phantom Pain ended, Diamond Dogs’ Mother Base was massive, housing numerous facilities and hundreds of soldiers, and even having its very own Metal Gear, not to mention nuclear capabilities. It was a veritable fortress in and of itself. So maybe spending some time on showing just how Big Boss and his followers merge all of this with Outer Haven wouldn’t have been such a bad idea.
