Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Ninja Theory’s Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is a gut-wrenching ride through the depths of hell, both literally and figuratively. The game opens up on a minimalist note, but even that is enough to make anyone nervous about the perilous journey ahead. The camera juts in really close to our protagonist Senua as she rows her boat to the stop, and we get to hear the many voices that haunt her thoughts – which makes us familiar with her entangled mental condition. The dark and dreary environments, all dotted with lying corpses and lifeless vegetation all serve to make the player unsettled, which helps in forming a deeper connection with Senua herself.
