Alone In The Dark (2008)

Atari’s fifth instalment in the Alone In The Dark franchise, simply titled Alone In The Dark released to mostly unfavourable critical reception in 2008. The game lacked polish, which was evident in every aspect of the product – its story, its gameplay, puzzles, etc. Following the negative reviews, Atari threatened to sue many gaming publications for putting their reviews based on a pre-release build of the game which reportedly Atari had provided in the first place. A bunch of controversies surrounding a mediocre entry in a promising franchise is what made Alone In The Dark one of the biggest disappointments of 2008.
