Just like Mario (but maybe not to the same extent), Pokemon is a series that has branched out into multiple different genres over the years. There is, of course, the mainline RPG series of games, but there’s a lot else this franchise has attempted as well, from first person rail gameplay with Pokemon Snap to turn based strategy with Pokemon Stadium to the roguelike Mystery Dungeon series.
