Imagine the chaotic combat of DOOM mixed with the open world of, well, RAGE. RAGE 2 brings a bombastic sense of colour and action to the proceedings but adds a litany of sharp visual effects. Seeing the APEX Engine’s destructibility combined with the sheer draw distance and amount of things happening further reinforced the game’s visual flair, especially given the open world flair. Besides, it’s not hard to admire the Mad Max aesthetic that RAGE 2 pulled off so well.
