Large and detailed, dense and packed, we’ve seen settings of every variety in games this year, as the medium continues to push forward with new and better ways to immerse players. The size of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s Ancient Greece is staggering, but what is even more staggering is how much variety there is. Around every corner there’s something interesting to see, and the game always keeps things fresh with incredible variety in both, art style and visual design, while the series’ iconic methods of traversal make the entire world feel literally boundless. Whether you’re riding your horse across vast, rolling plains, or clambering across the rooftops of Athens, or sailing through a furious storm out on the Aegean Sea, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s world never ceases to amaze you.
