The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD – Locking Fast Travel to Amiibos

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD - amiibo

Of course, Nintendo quickly found another tactic to annoy fans with – selling quality of life features not behind DLC but through amiibos. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, despite not being a massive overhaul of the original, still had a decent number of improvements. But one of its biggest – the ability to fast travel back to the Skyloft from anywhere – required purchasing a $25 amiibo. It’d be extremely dumb to lock this behind DLC but at least anyone with an internet connection could access it. Amiibos which are harder to find and not as easily accessible? Just the pits. Naturally, this strategy will be repeated again for Metroid Dread which offers a health and missile tank upgrade with its $30 amiibo double pack.
