Tatanka
On April 12th, Certain Affinity – which has worked on multiplayer for the Halo series over the year – announced it was being entrusted with “further evolving” Halo Infinite in “new and exciting ways.” While one could take this as the developer simply being more involved, this happened when rumors of Tatanka circulated. Tatanka was the codename for a newcomer friendly mode apparently linked to Forge but subsequent reports by Jez Corden of Windows Central revealed that it’s actually a battle royale mode for Halo Infinite.
It’s allegedly been in development for years and will feature elements from the campaign along with PvEvP components (like side quests, high value targets and so on). There’s a chance it could launch in Season 3, which is already confirmed for later this year, so an announcement at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase would make sense.
