Lest you thought the Mafia franchise was sleeping with the fishes, it seems that Mafia 4 is in development. Kotaku reported on Hangar13 working on a prequel earlier in May; several days later, XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker reported hearing the same. Mafia 4 (final name pending) is apparently set in Sicily in the late 19^th century and early 20^th century. Players will seemingly control Don Salieri, the head of the Salieri family in Mafia 1, and gameplay will be more linear like the first two games. A reveal at the Summer Game Fest isn’t impossible (2K Games revealed Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands at last year’s show) so we’ll see.
