YOUR FRIENDS’ FATE (FAR CRY 3)
Far Cry as a series seems to have made a name for itself for having controversial (or unsatisfying, at the very least) endings. Far Cry 5 dissatisfied a lot of people this year with the way it concluded, but Far Cry 3 was perhaps even more egregious in this regard. At the very end, Jason is giving the option of either freeing his friends and saving their lives and then going home with them, or killing them, remaining on the island, and become a leader to the people. Never has a choice in a game been so painfully black or white. And the game makes that abundantly clear, because if you do kill your friends, you are killed shortly afterward as well.
