The PS5 is seemingly around the corner and even without any indication of a release date or price, it’s been looking pretty good. Along with its SSD, the DualSense controller is one of the bigger centerpieces for the console. So how are developers utilizing it? Let’s take a look at a few ways here.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Insomniac Games is in the spotlight with not one but two major PS5 titles set to release at or near the console’s launch. The first is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and its DualSense implementation will somewhat mirror that Spider Sense-ation. According to creative director Brian Horton, the controller’s haptic feedback will indicate the direction of incoming attacks. Using Venom Punch, which involves holding down Square, will make it so that “you feel Spider-Man’s bio-electricity crackle across from the left side of the controller, culminating in the right side on impact.” It just adds that extra punch, no pun intended, to the already stellar combat.
