Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart
Insomniac’s other big exclusive, releasing close to the PS5’s launch window, is Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Creative director Marcus Smith has already spoken about how the adaptive triggers can make weapons like the double-barrel shotgun Enforcer fire one barrel when pulled and offer up some resistance which must be pressed through for the second barrel. But another example was provided by director Mike Daly when speaking to the Washington Post regarding the Burst Pistol. Daly said that “It can stay accurate if you fire it slowly or you can just pull the trigger all the way down to fire quickly and sacrifice that accuracy for rate of fire.” Keep in mind that these are just two examples so it should be interesting to see how other weapons function.
