Pyramid Head – Silent Hill 2
Though lurching through Silent Hill 2 with an imposing cleaver makes Pyramid Head oh-so scary, he’s not actually the bad guy. That would be James Sunderland, the protagonist, who euthanized his dying wife Mary. Emotional frustration and outbursts from Mary notwithstanding, James felt immense guilt from his actions and Pyramid Head was manifested from his psyche for the sake of punishment. Upon James finally realizing this, Pyramid Head kills itself. James is left to his own devices, with the ending depending on the choices that the player made.
