Prototype
Alex Mercer’s journey for the truth and maximum edginess in Prototype remains a blast to this very day. Compared to other superhero titles, the franchise doesn’t reinvent the wheel when it comes to open world exploration and objectives. Instead, it gives you tons of insane powers before letting you lose in a city of hapless people and monsters with over-the-top destruction and gore.
Prototype 2 did build upon this with a new protagonist named James Heller and mechanics like tendrils for throwing and smashing things but it was still the same style of carnage. Hopefully, a proper remastered set of both titles will be released (especially after Activision’s previous terrible attempt) and a sequel happens down the line.
