Kameo
The original Kameo had its fair share of shortcomings, whether it was in the protagonist’s characterization, the controls or the excessive tutorials. Nevertheless, the potential was there and Rare set about working on a sequel. It would be more of an open world title featuring a redesign for Kameo that made her look more mature.
However, after Microsoft chose to focus on Kinect, it was cancelled after just a few months in production. The cancellation wasn’t made public until 2013. While asking Rare to make anything that isn’t Sea of Thieves feels like asking too much, Kameo’s fantasy setting and morphing mechanics are still intriguing and rife with potential. Perhaps some day we’ll see all of that realized in a proper sequel.
