Clock Tower
Silent Hill, Resident Evil and Alone in the Dark all had their roles to play in establishing the survival horror genre. It’d be remiss to not include Clock Tower, the 1995 point and click horror adventure from Human Entertainment. The atmosphere, further enhanced by the iconic Scissorman, made the first game a classic despite its flaws. Though the 1996 follow-up received decent praise, other sequels failed to really capitalize on the series’ potential. If Clock Tower were to return, could it hold up in this age of first person horror and VR titles? That’s up to developer Sunsoft, which currently owns the franchise but given how Clock Tower 3 released in 2003, you shouldn’t hold your breath in anticipation.
